I’ve enjoyed Mr. Willard’s talent going back to Fernwood Tonight back in the day, then the movies that Christopher Guest directed/produced: This is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, For Your Consideration, etc. Such a wonderful comedic actor. Loved him in Modern Family as the quintessential father and grandfather with a sweet soul and patient love.. RIP Mr. Willard. You were a great thespian who made us smile and laugh.. R.I.P. Sir. Thank you for all the laughs not just in Modern Family but in every role you blessed us with.. Triple sadness this year On my favourite show.. He played Phil’s dad perfectly. RIP. Heaven is filled with a little more laughter today.. He was a great comic for the many decades of his career and Modern Family was such a fitting role to cap his life and career. The blessed souls in Heaven are doubly blessed now with some great laughs from Fred.

I’d rather be diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis caused by my high-functioning illiteracy and reliance on talc by Dr. Arthur Reade than have to watch this show again.. Glad it is still around somewhere in sequence. I have to make do with whatever comes on on in sequence.. I adore you! With All my family watched and watching you!!!. Miss them so much!! Such talented and hilarious people. Best comedy and sorely missed.. Haley, Dillon and the twins..now you have a show….. So when are we going to see just one spin-off from Modern Family?. Haley should’ve stayed with andy . The worst year for this to go off air!. I’m not paying to watch it! They left that bit of Info out!. What a great show this is! Watch the reruns all the time! Great writing!. I have the final 2 episodes left to watch, I’m dreading finishing it

He was such a amazing actor. My Deepest Sympathy to the family. He was great on Modern Family as Phil’s father.. RIP fred. Thank you for blessing us with your wonderful presence.. Just finished “Modern Family” two days ago, what an amazingly talented man, God bless his soul for spreading so much laughter in this world . A wonderful casting, the perfect father for Phil, same kindness in the eyes. Funny and kind.. Loved him as Phil’s dad, Robert’s Father in law, and the dance instructor, Basil St Mosely in The Wedding Planner xx Rest in Peaceful Laughter xx. He was perfect as Phil’s dad! So happy he got to be there for the entire series. Wonderful man so funny. RIP Fred. You will be missed but thank you for the memories . I just watched the #ModernFamily episode yesterday from where this picture was taken. It brought tears to my eyes, as he was an uplifting character. Thank you to all the wonderful memories you brought us over the years. Xo
He was such a good pick for Phil’s dad. I truly felt the love between them.. For Modern family And every time we was on Jimmy Kimmel Live !. You guys deserve this. I am serious that for me, Modern Family is THA BEST show ever. It makes me feel at home. Thanks for that . Fred Willard is a gem and I am legally obligated to tell you that he loved each and everyone one of you.. Just saw the episode of Friends that he was in. Made me smile . I loved that man! He was perfect as Phil’s Dad. My heart goes out to his family.. Well deserved , they constantly have reruns on sky tv & it is so sad to see in the later seasons how he had deteriorated in health. He was a wonderful character. He was perfect! Loved him in this role!. He was a wonderful dad for Phill. Funny and entertaining.

The episode, Legacy, was one of Modern Family’s best. Fred Willard was/is a great comedic icon and will truly be missed . When his character died I lost it. Tears the entire time. Fred has always reminded me of my own father so when Phil was mourning the loss I felt as if I could feel his every emotion.. I wondered about his health. He was a brilliant comedian, so subtle but on point. I had a feeling the storyline with Phil loosing his father was preparing all of us to mourn this beautiful soul.. He was such an amazing actor. Modern Family is what we remember him best for but his acting career spans decades. Also loved him on Jimmy Kimmel most recently. May he rest in peace. So sad; the last episode on which he was featured was amazing, but much sadder now in retrospect. RIP. He was such a wonderful asset to the show. I loved he and Phil’s father/son relationship…its was sweet as well as hilarious. Rest in peace.
