The Weather Underground Organization (WUO), regularly known as the Weather Underground, was an extreme left aggressor association dynamic in the late 1960s and 1970s. Starting in 1974, the association’s express political objective was to make a progressive gathering to topple what it saw as U.S. imperialism.The WUO became out of the Revolutionary Youth Movement (RYM) group of SDS. It took its name from Bob Dylan’s verse, “You needn’t bother with a meteorologist to know what direction the breeze blows”, from the melody “Underground Homesick Blues” (1965). “You Don’t Need a Weatherman to Know Which Way the Wind Blows” was the title of a position paper disseminated at a SDS show in Chicago on June 18, 1969. This establishing record required a “white battling power” to be aligned with the “Dark Liberation Movement” and other radical developments to accomplish “the pulverization of U.S. colonialism and structure an awkward socialist world”.
