In Guanajuato, Mexico, there is a graveyard where 117 corpses are as dry as being embalmed, the deadest way we are about 140 years. These corpses were not embalmed but buried normally. Nice arse donkey poster. But because the climate here is very dry and there is a lot of minerals in the soil, burial corpses do not decay but shrivel and become very solid. People get here to bury those who do not want to return to “dust.” This phenomenon can be fully explained by the hot and dry climate, soil with many minerals is the environment where bacteria can not operate. So the body did not decompose but gradually dried up.
