When President Bill Clinton was nominated for SCOTUS and approved by the Senate in 1996, the 60-year-old judge at the time became the first Jewish woman in SCOTUS. Before that in 1972, she became an officially appointed female professor of Columbia Law School. She once wrote: “Traditional law firms were often initially turned away from hiring Jews. Woman, Jew, mother… this union is somewhat too great ”. She said that, but that was so big that she all overcame gently. The love story of the best student in her class at Cornell University is as strong and vibrant as an education. Meet, love and marry classmate Martin David Ginsburg right in 1954 when he graduated from college. Then, because of her husband, Ginsburg left the plan of law school to follow her husband to Oklahoma for his military service. Then also because of her husband that the burden on Ginsburg’s shoulder was even heavier when they both attended Harvard Law School because Martin suddenly discovered cancer, had surgery and radiation therapy. While studying, taking care of her husband and raising a young daughter, Ginsburg also has to help her husband maintain his studies in the same way: the husband talks, the wife types. Then Ginsburg continued to follow her husband to New York again after he recovered and graduated while his wife had a year to go. This does not bother her. She transferred to Columbia School and successfully completed the program
