Her career continued, when in 1980, she was appointed to the District Court at the age of 47. She was then appointed to the Federal Court of Appeals by President Jimmy Carter the same year.
The turning point in Ms. Bader’s life and career was in 1993, then President Bill Clinton nominated her to the Supreme Court as Deputy Chief Justice. Ms. Bader Ginsburg officially became the second woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States, after the judge Sandra Day O’Connor. Yet, she was also the first Jew to be appointed to this important position. Like “fish meet water”, Ms. Bader began the fight for feminism and equality for society.
During the past time, she has made efforts to eliminate many injustices, legal and career barriers for women. One can include the promotion of the Law on same-sex marriage in 50 states in the US in June 2015.
