In 1963, Ms. Bader became a professor at Rutgers Law School. By 1973, she became head of the legal department of the Women’s Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Federation.
Her career continued, when in 1980, she was appointed to the District Court at the age of 47. She was then appointed to the Federal Court of Appeals by President Jimmy Carter the same year.
The turning point in Ms. Bader’s life and career was in 1993, then President Bill Clinton nominated her to the Supreme Court as Deputy Chief Justice. Ms. Bader Ginsburg officially became the second woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States, after the judge Sandra Day O’Connor. Yet, she was also the first Jew to be appointed to this important position. Like “fish meet water”, Ms. Bader began the fight for feminism and equality for society.
