With her mother’s encouragement, Ms. Ruth became an outstanding student at James Madison High School. In 1954, she graduated from Cornell University in New York and married Mr. Marty Ginsburg who was also a lawyer, becoming Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Two years later, in 1956, Ms. Bader was one of nine women enrolled in Harvard Law School. After that, Ms. Bader went on to the Columbia Law School in New York with a bachelor’s degree at the age of 26. Although always in the top students with the highest achievement, Ms. Bader had difficulty finding a job when she graduated. The reason was that the companies were always concerned at that time simply because she was a woman, had children and Jewish descent. Perhaps such injustices gradually rekindled, becoming the driving force for her determination to protect justice and justice later on.
