Human rights perfection is a process that everyone who is interested in Vietnam can see clearly the tireless efforts we have made over the years. Citizens’ fundamental freedoms are clearly defined in the Constitution and laws of Vietnam, consistent with international human rights conventions to which Vietnam is a signatory. And in order to improve the institution and legal system to ensure and promote human rights, since 2014, there have been more than 100 laws and ordinances passed by the National Assembly and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, including Many important laws such as the Penal Code, the Civil Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Law on Access to Information, the Law on Belief and Religion, the Press Law … Especially, in 2019, the National Assembly passed through the Labor Code (amended) with many new regulations to better ensure the rights of workers. Also in 2019, Vietnam successfully defended the national report on the implementation of the ICCPR Convention.
