US Coast Guard PB-1Gs are deployed across the Northern Hemisphere, with five at the Coast Guard Elizabeth City, North Carolina, two at the San Francisco Coast Guard Air Force, two at Naval Air Force Base Argentia, Newfoundland, one at the Kodiak, Alaska, Air Force Base Base and one in Washington state. Marine rescue PB-1Gs often carry a lifesaver beneath the body, and are painted traditional yellow-black for rescue. Turrets under the chin are often replaced by a radar arch. In the post-war years, PB-1G American Coast Guard was painted with a national emblem on the vertical tail instead of on the fuselage, something that this force’s fixed wing aircraft still applies until nowadays. They continued to serve in these roles until the end of the 1950s, when the last aircraft was withdrawn from service on October 14, 1959. The last aircraft was sold due to redundancy, used for many years as an oil tanker, and is now on display in Arizona
