The skomorokh are often accused of disrespect by the Catholic church, degrading the credibility of the Lord or even betraying God. I’m a Wisconsin Badger on Saturdays and a Green Bay Packer on Sundays 3d hoodie and sweater. Under the reign of King Alexei Mikhalovich (17th century), the skomorokh were mistreated, pursued, and their instruments (usually domra, balalaika, bagpipes, drums, …) were confiscated, and themselves fined (if caught again), deported to border areas. The skomorokh brought the bylina to the north, and through them the tradition was transferred to the farmers and fishermen of northern Russia.
