A mile south along the river Derwent at Scoreby is a Roman-built fourth-century town known as Derventio. Sunflower I’m a happy go lucky ray of fucking sunshine Beach Towel. This town stretches 2.5 miles along a east / west road from Roman times. The town lies on both the east and west banks of the river, its two banks are connected by a bridge built directly along the Roman route. No archaeological evidence shows a Roman bridge built at or near the current location of Stamford Bridge. The Vikings suffered a huge disadvantage. Their army was divided into two; with some of their soldiers west of the Derwent River and other large numbers in the east. They did not wait for an English attack and it was a warm day in the end of September, so they left their armor behind the ships. The British army came and destroyed the Vikings who were now fighting hopelessly on the west side of the river.
